Step-by-Step Setup

Start using your dedicated IPv4 VPN service

Follow these six sequential steps to choose your protocol, create your account, configure your device, and verify your dedicated public IPv4 route.

Step 1

Protocol Selection

Each VPN instance uses either WireGuard or Hysteria2. Choose WireGuard when you want official app support and QR codes. Choose Hysteria2 when you want an HY2 URI/YAML profile for compatible clients.

Step 2

Create & Verify Account

Create one unified PhotonMark Cloud Account, then check your inbox for a verification email. Click the link in the email to activate your account. You must verify your email before logging in.

Step 3

Start a Trial or Buy a Plan

Each account can try each available protocol and region combination once, with no more than two trial instances at a time. Choose WireGuard or Hysteria2 in Australia or Japan. Each trial supports 3 devices, lasts 1 hour, and includes 1GB total data.

If two trials are already running, end one from Your VPN Instances and wait until removal finishes and it disappears from the list before starting another. This releases its dedicated public IPv4 early.

Step 4

Configure Client & Import Profile

Install the appropriate application for your device, then import the generated configuration profile or scan the QR code from the Client Portal.

1. Download Client

Install the official WireGuard client for your mobile device, laptop, or desktop router from our Downloads page.

2. Import Profile or QR

Navigate to your active WireGuard instance in the Client Portal, download the .conf configuration file, or scan the QR code using your mobile app.

3. Establish Tunnel

Activate the WireGuard interface. All internet traffic is now cleanly routed through your dedicated, ad-blocking public IPv4 interface.

Step 5

Verify Routing & IP

Enable the tunnel. Check your public IP address before and after connecting. If the address changes to your assigned dedicated public IPv4 and data consumption moves in the portal, your connection is active.

For a more objective comparison, run the same tests on each VPN connection: GFiber Speed Test, Speedtest by Ookla, Cloudflare Speed Test / Fast.com.

Compare ping/latency, jitter, download speed, and upload speed as well as how the connection feels in normal use.

Speed tests count against the 1GB trial allowance and can use it quickly. Run only the tests you need; you do not need to use every site.

Step 6

Dedicated IP Renewal

If you cycle or renew your dedicated public IPv4 address from the portal, old configurations and scannable QR codes stop working immediately. Import the newly generated configuration profile before reconnecting.

Troubleshooting checklist

No traffic after connecting: disconnect and reconnect, then try another network such as mobile data or another Wi-Fi.
WireGuard client unavailable from an app store: use the Android APK, macOS ZIP, or Windows installers on the Download page where appropriate.
HY2 DNS does not look right: enable Fake DNS or remote DNS in your Hysteria2 client settings, then reconnect.
A free trial is unavailable when that protocol and region combination has already been used on your account or no trial capacity is available.
Renewed IPv4 does not connect: re-download the new WireGuard config files or import the new Hysteria2 URI/YAML profile. Old profiles stop working after renewal.
